The McElhattan Challenge is a partnership between the McElhattan Foundation, the City of Franklin, and local community members dedicated to providing capital to startups and existing businesses seeking alternative funding pathways.

We believe that while talent is equally distributed, opportunity is not. That’s why we’re challenging the Franklin community: bring us bold, high-impact ideas that will grow and strengthen the city, and we’ll provide the capital and resources you need to make it happen.

  • Must be located in or have plans to locate in the City of Franklin


Grant Process

  1. Submit a Letter of Interest

  2. Meet with the Business Outreach Coordinator to refine your Application

  3. Submit your Application and begin working on your Pitch

  4. Pitch your Proposal to the Grant Review Committee

    Jess is the first point of contact for entrepreneurs and businesses applying for the McElhattan Challenge. She assists applicants with their Letters of Intent and Applications. She also connects entrepreneurs with resource partners, mentors, real estate opportunities, and local learning and workforce initiatives.
